Children

Our Mission Statement ~ To nurture children in an inclusive, loving and safe environment, so that they might become followers of Jesus Christ.

• Sunday School – Children are invited to attend the 9:30 and/or 10:50 worship services with their parents so they can enjoy a short Children’s Sermon before going to their Sunday School classes. Parents may then pick their children up following worship in the Education Building.
  • In addition to Sunday School, children may serve as Acolytes or Liturgists during Sunday morning worship, and/or may participate in the GCUMC Children’s Music Program by singing or playing handbells.
• U Can & B.E.A.R.S. – This midweek ministry is open to children in the church and the community between ages 4 and 12. They meet in the Gold Canyon UMC Education Building on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 to 6pm for music, games, and other activities that demonstrate how God can be found in everything. A light snack is provided.

Sidewalk Ministries (aka Sidewalk Sunday School) – This vital community outreach ministry is designed to reach un-churched children and their families and introduce them to the love of Christ. Using lessons that encourage life-giving values, our Sidewalk volunteers help children and their parents learn that there are better alternatives to dealing with stress and conflict through the power of the Holy Spirit. Sidewalk meets from 10:30-11:30 am every Saturday during the months of October through April.
