Sunday, March 26th
The Gold Canyon United Methodist Church’s Performing Arts Series presents Christian Pianist Jerry Nelson in concert on Sunday, March 26 at 2:00 pm on the incredible 9’3” Petrof Mistral Concert Grand Piano in our church’s 1200-seat Sanctuary.
His very popular concerts provide a mix of majestic traditional hymn arrangements like “How Great Thou Art.” Jerry also has a very intuitive feel for jazz which he creatively applies to familiar spirituals and other hymns. In addition, he rather seamlessly moves from a high-energy Hebraic style to, perhaps, a quiet, meditative rendition of “Jesus Paid It All”. For many people, inspired Classical music becomes a worship experience, so Jerry typically includes some famous classics in his programs as well.
After directing the same church orchestra for over 30 years, Jerry felt a burning desire to share his talent and heart with a hurting world. His passion is to use music to rekindle that spark of joy and to inspire hope in the many who seem to see no light at the end of their tunnel. He brings a wealth of experience as a recording artist, conductor, composer, arranger and pianist to the concert stage.
This concert is open to the public at no charge as an offering will be received. Everyone is asked to please bring at least one non-perishable food item for the Gold Canyon UMC Food Bank.
