The Gold Canyon United Methodist Church first met in the cafeteria of the Gold Canyon Elementary School on Kings Ranch Road.  In 1988 the Southwest Annual Conference appointed an associate pastor at Velda Rose United Methodist Church to organize a church in the area and in January 1989, the church was established and chartered with 18 members.

Meetings continued to be held in the Gold Canyon Elementary School and as the church grew the need for a larger facility soon became apparent.  In 1996 land was purchased along Kings Ranch Road and The Fellowship Hall was erected with services beginning in January 1997. As more land became available, additional lots were purchased.

As the congregation continued to grow, the need for a Sanctuary became apparent.  Ground was broken in January 2003 for a 1,200 seat Sanctuary with 2004 Christmas Eve services opening the spacious new facility.

Gold Canyon United Methodist Church is open to all people who are seeking spiritual growth.  We are committed to providing a place of worship and fellowship for anyone seeking God’s love.
