Gold Canyon UMC reaches out to needs in other nations. We focus support on the following world areas and ministries through our General Budget and special offerings.
-
Rice & Beans Ministry (Costa Rica)
This construction and food ministry, founded by Fred Curry, serves many local communities around San Jose with home improvements, food delivery, and providing school supplies, uniforms, and shoes. Participants on the annual GCUMC mission trip work directly with local people to share the love of Christ by doing home repairs, conducting VBS, and delivering food.
-
Fellowman International (Honduras)
Missionary Lisa Armstrong’s vision is to assist those who are impoverished in body or spirit by sharing God’s love and hope with the poor of the Buenos Aires, Honduras community with medical and agricultural ministries. A staff of medical professionals provides care at the FMI clinic. The community gardens and animal husbandry barns generate foodstuffs for local school children and are used to model effective agricultural practices to the people, with the goal of improving nutrition and health.
