The Great Divorce | The Focus is Upon World Communion Sunday

by

We often think of divorce as a legal term. A divorce is actually when any of us stray away from a sacred covenant. When Jesus is discussing divorce, he is not talking about a legal matter between two bitter spouses. He is talking to all of us who have strayed from sacred, divine covenants. At various points in our lives, we have all divorced ourselves from God. This is why we need to come to the Altar of God and partake of the sacred elements. World Communion Sunday is a wonderful celebration where the world comes to the Altar of God. We all come as sinners in need of redemption and grace. And, we all come as sinners that have divorced ourselves from God.

Who is Jesus: Living Water

by

Looking to quench your thirst for spiritual refreshment? The scripture in this message tells the story of Jesus asking a Samaritan woman for a drink of water. It was surprising as Jews and Samaritans didn’t share things in common, but Jesus had a plan in mind. Jesus knew the woman had a hard life, and he promised her something extraordinary – “living water.” This water would ease the pain in her heart and refresh her life in ways she couldn’t imagine. As we explore this story, we’ll learn that living water is available to all who seek it.
