A community of Christians can do so much more together than we can as individuals. Yet authentic community can be difficult to find because there are barriers to community that impede it’s healthy formation. In this message we will look at how to hurtle over those barriers to community.
We have watched many people succumb to temptation. There are several court cases that are being tried right now of people who are unable to resist temptation. It is easy to compromise our ethics and morals. Jesus faced temptation and triumphed over it and in doing so he taught us something important about why we should resist it.
When Jesus calls some fisherman to follow him they leave their business and father immediately. There is no hesitation. In some ways this seems irresponsible. We may read this story and worry that Jesus might ask us to do the same but the writer has left out some important details. So what is the rest of the story?
