I Am… The Gate

Jesus said, “I am the gate.” Some of his listeners understood part of what he meant but there is a deeper meaning. A meaning they had difficulty comprehending. When we go through the gate, Jesus talks about we discover new possibilities and leave our past behind. Going through the gate promises a new life.

Golden Rule

Most people know the golden rule. Did you know that Jesus stated a version of the golden rule? “In everything, do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets. (Matt. 7:12) The golden rule is found in many cultures and almost all religions but the version Jesus stated is different from all the rest. There is a reason why he stated it differently.

One Without the Other

Why are some Christians mean and unethical? Why are some of the most knowledgeable people about the Bible the most uncaring and unloving people that we have ever met? We would expect all Christians to be loving and compassionate. Yet our experience tells us that this is not true. Some Christians are loving while others don’t seem to have let their knowledge about Jesus change their actions. Why is there a difference?
